Hi Everybody,
Was looking for a place like this as I'm teaching myself to cook...on a budget. :)

Last weekend I made a cake and I actually have a question...

I made two layers and placed one on the bottom shelf of the oven (gas) and one on the top. The one on the bottom had bubbles in it when I took it out...is there a reason for this?

Also any suggestions for making a more moist chocolate cake from scratch would be great.

Welcome to the group. We have some wonderful bakers here ( I am NOT one of them) who will answer your question soon!

Enjoy.

thanks everybody! have posted in cakes and am confident will learn the answer to bubbly cake soon :) thanks everybody for all the nice welcomes!

Welcome, one thing you can do to get rid of
bubbles/air holes is to fill the pan and then
bang it on the counter before you put it in the
oven. I know it sounds crazy but it gets the
air bubbles out. One quick drop/bang should do it.
