My dog biscuits are on the list and in the garbage.

Fortunately, they each only had one a day, when I got home. Rarely do they have 2.

:) Half Baked did you throw them away because the are listed or did you check the UPC codes etc.The codes dont match up on mine but Im still a little leary.

Thank you for the update. I didnt notice my dog biscuit in the recall, but I bought a store brand version so I have no idea which company they purchased those biscuits from. I'll call my grocery store and ask.

I didn't bother to check codes or anything - just tossed them out.

Now they are each having a couple of oyster crackers when I get home. They go, "oooooooh, yeah people food!".

Beginning

I have been buying Iams from the day I got these dogs. Now all of sudden they aren't eating at all. Now what? when I give them something different they eat it. The same thing when I tried to give them canned food. Left it lay. They really are picky but always ate the stuff. This is really starting to creep me out since I can't ask them what is wrong? But not eating is not good sign. Both of them are doing the same thing. Was Iam's on the list? Where was the list? Not on this thread. Or else I didn't see it.

thanks for understanding. These guys are normally good eaters.

Check Up

have to take the one diabetic dog in once month to get blood work up. Other dog goes along. didn't find any problems. Told me he thinks they are just tired of same food. As I said, eating it for 10-12 years . Since these food trouble (recall) got me worried.

In the Kitchen, are you aware that Iams is on the 'bad' food list?

Iams wet food was on the bad list - was their dry food as well?

If they are accustomed to wet food, you might try getting a dry food and then adding plain yogurt. Our dog has bad teeth and bad gas so the yogurt was recommended to help soften the dry food but I don't see why "regular" dogs wouldn't benefit as well ... just a thought!

Can someone clarify for me...wheat gluten is still the only problem ingredient, right?
Thanks.

I heard on the news last night about Sunshine Mills and now it seems that there are a lot of dog biscuits that are being recalled.

Jolie doesn't eat biscuits but she loves Greenies and they are good for her teeth. I have not heard anything about them but I will call my vet to make sure they will not hurt her.

Sure doesn't look like the dry is there. Thank goodness.

I second your "Thank Goodness"! With all the treats being recalled, I'm just waiting to hear that the dry food has been tainted as well. I'm not sure what I'd do then ... our dog would be fine. He'll eat anything I would make him but our cat is on a food that helps prevent urinary tract infections. I don't think I could make the right food for her ...:(

I would have been concerned, as well. Just imagine if we had to eat the same food for that long! That would only work if it were chocolate!

Thanks.
Wheat gluten is found in animal foods, however, the culprit in the wheat gluten seems to be melamine ( a poisonous material).

I tried calling my grocery store today and was told that my store brand dog bisquits were from Sunshine Mills (the mill that recalled dog treats), but they said it was from a "separate" plant and to call Sunshine Mills. I tried that, and the phone was continually busy. Either way, I will not feed my dog these biscuits. I'll save the box though, just in case.
