Dried soy bean sub?

Hi...

I am making a vegetarian recipe that calls for rehydrating dried soy beans to make a "coarse batter" to add to a casserole. Any suggestions for a replacement> I was thinking of using some canned black beans.

Without knowing the exact recipe it would be hard to say, but my guess is that your idea of canned black beans would work well.
