hey everyone i received my new tojiro dp gyutou and im loving it but know im looking to get a pairing knife and i was wondering what you guys use and what you would recommend. i should be relatively cheap preferable under or around 30$ the cheaper the better but i am looking for a good bang for the buck.

so what is your favorite pairing knife.

If you like the Tojo gyuto, why not try their paring knife? It's very close to your budget, about $36 IIRC (from Korin). Short of that, you could probably get a Wusthof for under $30. A Forschner Fibrox is also a good choice.

IMO the best paring knife under $100 is the Shun Classic 3.5". It's about $40- a tad over your budget but well worth it.

I have a Misono Molyb 12 cm Petty and it's replaced my other 2 paring knives. I love the petty and it's probably the most used knife by me and DH right now. It was $49 from Korin.

I have been considering getting the Tojiro petty, which is cheaper than Misono. Just haven't gotten around to it.
