My crockpot has a crack in it but it is still usable. Is it safe? Do you think it leaches toxins or heavy metals into the food? I like to cook turkey breast in it. I have heard that crocks can leach heavy metals into food. I have candida and other health problems so need to know.

I don't think there are any toxins or heavy metals in the liner to be leached out. The Feds have some pretty strict rules about what materials are used in containers used for food.

If it doesn't leak, I'd use it but plan on replacing it soon. The crack is probably going to get worse with use.

Between heating up, then cooling down, repeating you only have a few uses before it will start to leak.
So, unless it was made in China (and might contain lead) I would not worry too much about heavy metals but more about what happens when it starts to leak and you get liquids all over the bottom of the crock pot. That could cause a short that could cause a fire or at the very least ruin the rest of the crock pot.
