Anyone else going to the Alton Brown book signing in downtown Chicago on Thursday? or for that matter is anyone going to any of the signings in other cities?

I think he is coming to Austin in the next week or so, but no I am not going to stand in line and fight the crowds for an autograph.

Ill be going to the food and wine festival at Mohegan Sun Casino ( Connecticut) In January. I know Bobby Flay, Robert Irvine, Maryanne Esposito and others will be there. Last year I was able to talk with Jacques Pepin, Robert Irvine, Maryanne Esposito, Guy Fieri and a few others. The book signings were well organized, and moved relatively quickly. Obviously depends on the popularity of the chef, and the amount of people there. Oh yeah, went to a Lidia Bastianich Signing too. It was nice to hear her talk, and hear her story about how she was responsible for cooking for the pope when he visited NYC.

It was awesome. There was like 800 people there. He signed all 5 of my books. He took the time to shake hands, introduce himself by name, and take a picture to every single person. At one point when it was starting to get late he went in to the crowd and signed books for a bunch of kids who needed to get home. He is a clas act, as we say in yiddish a real mentch.
