"betty crocker" was created in 1921 to solve a mail crisis.
after a promotion for gold medal flour flooded washburn crosby company with questions
about baking, the company created a fictitious kitchen expert.
the name crocker was taken from a recently retired director of the company, and "betty"
was used because it sounded friendly.

Blew out horribly on the first half. Only got Chewie on that one. Got the second half all right...with one exception, The Shire is the village where they live. The fictional land is actually Middle Earth is it not? Semantics, and not important.

You are keerect; It's semantics..........

In my view, tho', "Middle Earth", is the name of the continent where all of the characters live; Middle earth includes places like Mordor, Gondor, and others, where no hobbit lives, so we go to the common denominator, and to my knowledge, hobbits live no-where else
(Quote;- Eriador also contained The Shire, homeland of the Hobbits, and the nearby settlement of Bree. .............
to my detriment, the Shire is the VILLAGE; correct answer SHB, where the SHIRE was located, i.e. in Eriador, but that would have had to be in the "Really Tough Question" Dept. ain't no doubt LOL...
