I have a 9" Anolon Santoku that I got from a friend. Had it sitting by the sink when I used a very strong drain opener (liquid lightning, contains sulfuric acid), the sink went all volcano on me and long story short, the knife now has black stains on the blade I can't get to come off. If anyone has any suggestions at all on how to clean this, I will write you into my will.

Thank you very much in advance.

I don't believe you can. It's not a stain, it's a chemical reaction that changed the metal at the molecular level, and can't be reversed. But this is just an opinion based on a similar experience a number of years ago when I was playing with acids and metals. (I had a fun job.)

Sulfuric acid I'm afraid, will have attacked the carbon content in your knife. I doubt it can be eradicated and the knife, beautiful instrument that as it was, restored. :(
