SO and I are going to a 60th birthday party for a long-time friend of hers and her sisters.

This guy is fun-loving and likes to party. I'm looking for ideas for gag gifts for this guy that celebrate this milestone birthday are somewhat unique.

Any ideas???

Depends

Sneak to his house the night before and put tombstones on his lawn.

put a gift in a jar that has the lid crazy glued on.

Huge jar labeled viagra,rogaine etc.

Go to goodwill and get him an old leisure suit.

Readers digest large print. (did they just go out of business?)

A cane/walker etc.

clip on sunglasses.

ginko biloba

In addition to what was already mentioned, a really big magnifying glass, a giant remote. You could create a special certificate, such as "President of the Prune of the Month Club." If I think of anything else, I'll add it later.

Just thought of another thing. Go to the local restaurants and stores and get their senior discount cards. Present them in some sort of creative way.

Get a cane from the thrift store. Go to the dept store and buy a bicycle rearview mirror and a bike horn. Attach the mirror towards the bottom of the cane and the horn near the top...viola, A Dirty Old Man Cane, made for looking up ladies dresses.

My parents hosted a party in the backyard. On the pine tree they threw about 30 bras and put up a sign that said 'Here's to 60 big ones'........don't know if you had that in mind though!

That would be funny to see :ROFLMAO:

Is he losing his hair? If he is...cut out a hairbrush shpae in wood with a jigsaw, sand it down and write on the back "Bald Man's Hairbrush" varnish it and glue a piece of felt to the other side.

Gosh, it's been so long since Shrek turned 60...:) and a lot of the ideas I inflicted on him are written above.

If you don't mind looking foolish, dress to the era and bring a dish of something to share. You know, a jello-salad, Ritz and American cheese, etc. When hubby turned 60 (3 yrs ago) everyone fell right into it!

1950's

I totally adore theme parties. How about a 1950's toy box that would have to include a Mr. Potato Head, a Hula Hoop, a Frisbee and Ant Farm? (Was Silly Putty from the 50s?) If the weather or space allows for people to play with them, even better! Get the camera ready!

Some music would be cool too. Elvis, Chubby Checker, Johny Cash, Connie Francis, Chuck Berry, Doris Day, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and how about Hank Williams? I saw a Mp3 player somewhere that was shaped like a 1950's transistor radio....I wish I could remember where I saw it.

If you are hosting the party, don't forget the old School Lunch concept with either a lunch pail or brown paper bags. White bread sandwiches filled with everything from bologna, pimento cheese, to PB&J, apples, Moon pies, and a cafeteria-sized carton of milk purchased for 5 cents from the cafeteria lady with a hair net. Don't forget candy like Fireballs, coconut sundaes, candy cigarettes, and pastel buttermints.

Roller skates, hot rods, bobby socks, pony tails, and such. Will the guests dress the part? I have a letter sweater gathering dust somewhere around here. Invite me! I'll even wear saddle shoes! But if someone arrives in the motorcycle jacket with skinny jeans, a white t, and their hair slicked back, I'm gone! hahaha

Retro gifts...I got a Slinky Dog from Duluth Trading. I frequently take him to work with me, the folks love him.

The Vermont Country Store has tons of toys from the era! For hubby we had a 50s/60s era brunch with all the comfort foods of the era. Jello molds, Ritz with American cheese squares on top, cubes of Spm. It was potluck and our friends came up with a lot of ideas.

I'll let you know Sunday. The party is tomorrow night.

We picked up a bunch of gag gifts at Spencer Gifts. They have a of raunchy and regular gag gifts.

As a 60th birthday party it was kinda sad.

A bunch of old folks standing around sharing stories from when they were younger and not drinking nearly as much as they used to. It really wasn't a big fun party as much as a reunion of people who drank together from time to time.

SO was the only one to bring any kind of gift. There wasn't much interest.

It was over early.

That's too bad, it should have been a great celebration! I plan on my 60th to be the party of a lifetime...I might even get arrested. I have 10 years to plan!
