Thank you, I appreciate your support. I stepped on the scale after aqua chi tonight & I am down 21 pounds. I still have a long ways to go but it's a start. When I wake up in the morning I start thinking about what I'm going to do for exercise today. It's a whole new thought process for me.

vitauta 10-18-2012 08:51 PM

21 pounds, sb? that's fabulous! how long ago did you begin with your regimen? which diet program is it, or are you freelancing?

I started on August 20th right after my doctor's appointment. My cholestorol & glucose are dangerously high. The doc gave me a real wake up call to loose 100 pounds. I started with an appetite suppressant which I have to closey monitor my blood pressure while on it. the doc. said I could only have the pills for 3 months. If I chose to do nothing the doc. gaurenteed I would have a stroke within 3 months. So everyday for the next 3 months, and beyond, I will exercise everyday. I am very conscience of portion sizes & try to get all my fruits & veggies in daily.I drink alot of water too.

PrincessFiona60 10-18-2012 09:29 PM

SB is doing fantastic and making some good choices when it comes to her meals.

21 pounds, great!

your doctor's heavy-handed method of getting your attention aside, sb, you seem to have interpreted his warning in a good positive way. you are well along the way toward a new trimmer, healthier you through exercise and some necessary dietary changes.

sb, your take-charge positive attitude is awesome, and losing 21 pounds in just two months time is a huge accomplishment! you must be already seeing and feeling good effects from all of your hard work. lately, your posts exude a fresh new energy and level of optimism that is a joy to witness.

hopefully, your doctor will (or has already) have a talk with you about the marvelous restorative powers and properties of your body, going forward. these should be born out through improved laboratory tests as you continue to follow a healthier lifestyle. you might be pleasantly surprised at the remarkable resilience of your body in its ability to begin reversing some of the ill-effects of past unhealthy habits.

sb, i am inspired by you by the way you have wholeheartedly embraced certain necessary changes in your life, with all its challenges and trials. you make me want to be healthy too, sb.

Remember SB, when you started on this journey, we told you we would be here for support. We are still here and are wallowing in your success.

Eventually you will hit a plateau. Don't get discouraged. You will notice that your body is doing some rearranging. You will notice that you are starting to see a waistline. You can bend over with more ease. The plateau phase will pass and the pounds will again start to fall off.

Just think of all of us as Weight Watchers. Only you don't have to go to meetings. And there is no weekly fee. We all are rooting for you. Go SB!!:flowers:

I had oatmeal with 2 tablespoons of Dark Chocolate Almond butter stirred in. It was good, I didn't add any sugar. will be checking my blood sugar in a few minutes to see how it's doing.

Andy M. 10-20-2012 01:35 PM

I also had oatmeal this morning. Mine was flavored with blueberries.

I was thrilled with my sugar reading this morning. It was 149. And I am still not on any medication for diabetes. I am more conscience of my carb intake since the doc took me off the glipizide. I kept having sugar crashes. What with the weight loss and watching what I eat more closely, I am doing good.

Kylie1969 10-20-2012 03:34 PM

This morning I am having some Weetbix

simonbaker 10-20-2012 04:46 PM

I had fiber one cereal with milk , coffee & a slice of granma's banana bread.

babetoo 10-20-2012 08:43 PM

muscle milk

Kylie1969 10-21-2012 12:36 AM

SB, that banana bread sounds nice :yum:

simonbaker 10-21-2012 11:10 AM

We went out & had breakfast with mom after mass this morning. I ordered eggs benedict, poached but could only eat about a quarter of it & I was actually full. That felt pretty good. Dh & mom polished it off.

Katie H 10-21-2012 11:13 AM

Sunday is when we have a bit of a "special" breakfast, so today we had homemade cinnamon rolls, soft scrambled eggs, fried hog's jaw, tomato juice and coffee. There were 4 cinnamon rolls, but I made them so large I could barely eat one. That means...yeah...we'll have some tomorrow.

simonbaker 10-21-2012 11:35 AM

sounds delicious!

chopper 10-21-2012 01:01 PM

We had bacon, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, whole wheat bagels with grape jelly, orange juice, and tea for me and coffee for DH.
Yum! :)

Snip 13 10-21-2012 02:44 PM

I had a fresh juicy peach, half the punnet of raw mushrooms I was chopping for dinner and some mixed salted nuts.

Kylie1969 10-21-2012 03:55 PM

Bacon and eggs is always a nice breakfast :yum:

Kylie1969 10-21-2012 04:02 PM

I have just had some eggs on toast

Kylie1969 10-22-2012 04:46 PM

This morning, Honey and Almond all bran

Andy M. 10-22-2012 04:52 PM

Warm banana bread and butter.

Addie 10-22-2012 05:10 PM

Not sure if it was breakfast or lunch. Two poached eggs on dark toasted bread. Had a very difficult time getting it down. By the time I got down to the last bite, it was ice cold. Next time I will only make one egg.

I finally tossed the last four eggs on the carton I had in the fridge. The expiration date was at the end of July. I really need to clean out that fridge. I had to laugh at my son. He showed up last night with a fresh dozen of eggs without my asking him to. Reason? It is time for me to start baking. I think he is trying to tell me something.

Trycar 10-22-2012 05:39 PM

- 3 Boiled eggs - NO YOLKS-(yuck)
- A bowl of bran cereal with - a few raisins - & almond milk.
- OH yeah, before all that I had a slice of Red Velvet cake @ 4:00 in the am - does that count as part of my breakfast?.....LOL!...Shhhhhh.
(I can't believe I just admitted this .... what can I say, it was calling my name when I got a small case of insomnia).
It was a baby slice. :o)

CWS4322 10-22-2012 05:47 PM

The same thing--2 poached eggs on steamed Swiss Chard with a side of brown rice. BORING, but filling! Which reminds me, I have to make a grain for tomorrow morning...think I'll steam some barley. I love barley...I steam the greens while I'm showering and then do the eggs. It takes me about 15 minutes to make and eat breakfast when I have the grain component ready.
