Hey, Mish --

I recently posted the following in the Cookwares forum, and thanks to Bucky, I now know it was you I was addressing it to. So I'm repeating it here. Hope it will be of help to you.

"It seems to me that within the past month or so, somebody in our group mentioned the turnover toaster -- an appliance from the 1950s that toasted bread one side at a time, then you opened the little door, turned the bread and toasted the other side. I can't remember if the poster was just reminiscing or if s/he was wishing to find and buy one.

Was it you? Or do you remember who it was? Reason I ask: I found one for sale, in the Vermont Country Store catalog. You can go to www.vermontcountrystore.com and get on their mailing list. They have two catalogs, and you want the one titled "Practical and Hard to Find". This one is the Winter 2005 issue, and the toaster is on page 79."

Cooool, Cats! It was me. It was me. Thanks for thinking of me. That's exactly the one I'm looking for. Says I can even put bagels in there. (Don't think you could do that back in Grandma's day). :)

You're welcome. :) I'm glad it's the one you want.

My grandmother had one when I was very small; I remember thinking it was pretty neat.
