I'm in the process of baking these cookies. This is my first time and I've tried one of them and it tastes just like shortbread. I creamed 1 lb. butter and 1 cup of sugar added 1 tea. vanilla and stired in 3-1/2 cups of flour Added 2 cups of crushed potato cips and 1/2 cup pecans chopped. Drop by teas on greased baking sheet fairly close together, they don't spread Baked at 350 for 15 min.
Enjoy

The recipe seems very similar to one that's been in my family since I was a little girl. I'll have to dig the recipe out and see. We always made them for Christmas and there were never any left. I love 'em.
This is my first time making them. The one I tasted was great.

Kades, do the potato chips stay crisp? Are the cookies very salty?[/UOTE]
yes but not crunchybecause they are crushed and the salt isn't noticable. You really get the taste of the butter. I'm hooked:LOL:
