The end of Good Eats:(
:sad:Alton Brown Announces End of 'Good Eats' Series | Serious Eats

Yet another good food network show going away. I'm sure it will be replaced with something equally as interesting, like something with cupcakes or someone who tries to eat a 20lb burger in 30minutes

NAchef 05-12-2011 11:27 AM

That's too bad, one of my favorite shows to watch.

Zhizara 05-12-2011 11:44 AM

Me too. He's funny, and informative, but I suppose he's pretty much covered everything by now though.

I hope the reruns will come on at a reasonable hour (it's on at 10PM here.)

:unhappy:Say it isn't so!!!!!!!!

All we need is another cooking contest show!! Grrrrr

luvs 05-12-2011 12:01 PM

i luv alton's ingenuity & really liked that show. sigh.

ChefJune 05-12-2011 12:21 PM

Never fear, he will live on in reruns.

Sadly it was the only show that really provided easy to understand explanations of why things happen and how to change them.

Hoot 05-13-2011 07:46 AM

Well, shucks.... I reckon it had to happen eventually. I truly dislike most of the new programs on the Food Network.(just a personal opinion, mind you).
I suppose I can find something else to watch.
Hmmm.....maybe I will give up TV.

Maybe not.

Hope so! Most of the stuff in the late afternoon/early evening has been beaten like a dead horse.

That's too bad :( I didn't know this, he's been one of my favorite shows for quite awhile.

Julio 06-10-2011 05:30 AM

This sucks! :(

The only good late show at foodnetwork the others are on the daytime.

Katie H 06-10-2011 10:48 AM

I'm sorry to hear that. He's my all-time favorite and I loved his programs. We don't have the Food Channel here, so I haven't seen any of the cooking shows since Glenn and I got married. From what I'm hearing about the current fare, that might be for the best.

moltogordo 07-23-2011 12:36 PM

I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Alton. T'was my favorite show, but this guy is so involved in production now, that I'm sure he felt that he's said everything he could say.

It was a real ride, Mr. Brown!:chef:

That does suck :( Were pretty far behind with shows on food network in SA. Last nights episode was about making beef jerky, any idea how many episodes come after this one?

Zhizara 07-23-2011 01:16 PM

I saw an episode day before yesterday. It was on earlier in the day, while the sun was still out. I hope that will be part of their daily lineup. I missed a lot of his shows because it was on so late. *fingers crossed*
