Our oven has broken so me and my husband are stuck cooking only on the hobs for a week. We decided to buy a gammon joint and cook it in our cast iron pot, but I cannot find a recipe anywhere to do this without an oven. Does anyone have any ideas? We've made a coke ham before but we'd like to be able to use the left over liquid for soup/stew .. any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Duck if you google Irish boiled ham you will find nirvana, I love it with parsley sauce and colcanon.
