Today I was going to make a Cranberry Nut bread. My recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of shortening. Do I need to run to the store or is there a substitute that won't change the taste or texture of this bread?

Thanks, I just joined this site today!

Welcome to DC. You are going to have a blast here. I make small cranberry pumpkin breads for the Church Fair every year. I use oil. It makes the loaf so moist. As stated before by Princess and Andy. Happy Cooking! :chef:
