Ingredients

  • One can of Hunt's Diced Tomatoes (15 oz.)
  • One can of Hunt's Tomato Sauce (15 oz.)
  • 1/4 cup (or more) heavy cream
  • One onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Fresh or dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
Directions

  1. Saute the onions in the pot with the olive oil, when they are translucent and brown add the minced garlic. (Garlic sautees much faster than onions.)Sautee another 2 mins or so than add the sauce, diced tomatoes and heavy cream. Bring to a boil, then turn the heat to low. Season with the basil, salt and pepper and keep cooking, stirring occasionally for about 30 mins.

Nice! If I get too hungry after fasting all day (recovering from yesterday) I shall try this, cream and all! Also, you make a good point about the garlic. Put it in with the onions and it is likely to be burned and bitter by the time the onions are translucent.
