Soup of the South
I am sharing this recipe from a friend, Adrianne, from Facebook. I've made it recently and is very good. Hope y'all enjoy.
1 lb fresh okra or frozen
1/4 cup green bell pepper
1/4 cup red bell pepper
onion maybe 1/4 cup
1 toe garlic
season to taste
salt and pepper
1 can tomato sauce
1 can of RoTel tomato w/green chiles
1 can whole kernel corn/ fresh or frozen
1/2 lb shrimp (pealed and devein)
2 Louisiana hot links (boiled)
1 bay leaf
saute the okra in a skillet or sauce pan with olive oil
add onion, bell pepper on low heat, garlic.
add tomato sauce
add RoTel tomato's
may need to add season
add bay leaf
cut links and add
add shrimp, when almost done add corn, let simmer.
White or brown rice!
That sounds really tasty. I've C&P to try when the okra is ready in the garden.
