Fennel with Butter and Cheese

This is wonderful and if you've never tried fennel give this a try.
4 large fennels cut off the stalks slice the ends off the base wash well now cut the fennel into quarters. Put into a large sauce pan with about 2/3 filled with water. Bring water to boil then add fennel. mean while heat oven to 350 and butter a 13x9 baking dish. Cook fennel over high heat about 15 min til tender but firm. Drain and place on paper towels arrange slightly overlappingin in your buttered dish, sprinkle with salt and crushed black pepper Dot with butter sprinkle with about a 1/3 cup of parm. Bake til fennel is tender and cheese melted serve hot and enjoy.
