At this point I'm feeding my four day old sourdough starter twice a day, 12 hours apart. From what I've been reading, it is continual practice to discard about half of the starter before each feeding. What will happen if you do not discard half of the starter? If you decide to feed the starter without discarding anything, once in awhile, will that affect the starter negatively?
