I'm here to say that I'm in luck.
Tonight I'm going to have duck.

You may not like it, that's OK
More for me is what I say

Pan seared and finished in the oven
That's the stuff that I am lovin'

Tossed salad and some rice pilaf
Then I know I've had enough.

Tell me folks, what do you say
Will be upon your plate today.

Three ideas I had for dinner.
Which one does become the winner?

Chicken Lombardy? Breakfast for supper?
Baked ham and fixin's? That there's the "yupper"!

Ham, and potatoes, cruciferous two*.
Shoved in the oven to do what they do.

I might make a salad, but that does take time.
Seems like I used it creating this rhyme. ;)

*broccoli and cauliflower

The standing chicken will be sitting on wine tonight instead of beer, just for a change. Not to mention wine makes for better gravy with the mashed spuds.
The fresh corn off the cob was delicious last night, and I'll add some peas to the leftovers for my mandatory green requirement.

No one eating dinner tonight?

...or is everyone undecided?

Tuesdays dinner; a lame affair
I've no ideas and just don't care
It's hot as heck in my hometown
The air is thick and weighs you down
Perhaps a salad or maybe a plate
of fruit and cheese with a beer to slake
our parched mouths and our burdened minds
A second pint and we'll be just Fine!

Nothing to boast of,
Broccoli to roast off.

Perhaps with some cheese,
Grated Parmesan please.

Need to use it before it goes bad,
It's starting to look a little bit sad.

A few little smokies leftover,
Otherwise they'll go to Rover.
(Or Beagle).

Thank you ladies for posting in verse
Some are better, some are worse

Happy to oblige, I'm glad you liked the rhymes
They are fun to spin and weave and pass away the time
Still there's dinner to be fixed and dishes to be done
Dogs to walk and clothes to fold; never ending fun
You were very diplomatic, calling neither of us out
But my lines are weak with kitschy rhymes, second rate; no doubt.
Take out pizza now sounds nice, they bring it to the door
I think we'll ring the house of pies with cheese and ponder this no more.

:)

Had to work late
Which isn't great
So, It's in to the freezer
For this old geezer
I see a pie,
I see some bread,
I see some head cheese,
which I dread,
Just Mr. Freezies,
And ice creams,
Looks pretty grim,
Or so it seems,
But, down below
Off to the right,
Something lurks,
Will I eat tonight?
I quickly grab it,
Unwrap the foil,
Honey! Get the water on to boil!
But then I realize
It's what I fear,
Just an old ham bone,
Looks like supper will be beer

Mary had a little lamb,
She also had a bear,
I've seen her with her little lamb,
But I've never seen her bear.

The elephant is a dainty bird,
It flits from bough to bough,
It makes its nest in a rhubarb tree,
And whistles, like a cow.

Mary had a little lamb,
The doctor was surprised.

We had Mexican Tacos, at least that was what the recipe was called.

I tried to write a rhyme
But, it took so much time
I tried to write a verse
It just got worse and worse.

We had pork schnitzel, potatoes, and a salad with a garlic vinaigrette. Stirling wanted that whole big potato. :ermm:

The wine was Beringer Pinot Grigio, that my sister brought. It wasn't bad, but a bit sweet for our taste.

I'm not even going to try. Sorry :(

I broiled a few links of Italian sausage and sautéed onions, garlic, three colors of bell peppers and zucchini, then added fresh basil and Italian seasoning. Boiled some penne and mixed them together. Served it with Parmesan cheese grated over the top and a drizzle of more evoo. Yummy.

Taxy and Wyshie, fabulous looking dinners! :yum:

I called one of my fave little places for take out fish and chips, cabbage slaw on the side. I didn't feel like making anything, and this little place never disappoints.

ermm...

Italian goulash it was not
I chopped and seared what was got
From the fridge yesterday; it was made my way
Delicious and perfectly hot

The sausage links sizzled with veggies and oil drizzled
In a pan with no lid on the top
Then in went the noodles and chopped herbs, never frugal
I sprinkled parm from the little cheese shop

So happy my mouth, with that oil from the south
That I dripped on more evoo
Then I plated it up and sat down for to sup
It was perfectly awesome you know ;)
