i have a sneaking suspicion that loads of peeps are going to say"nuthin' new about that, been doin' that for years!"well,i only found out about it recently so,just in case, here goes.
i love christmas.always have, always will.love all the christmassy grub, the drinks & the christmassy aromas too.sooooo, here's a simple way to have a hot toddy of mulled/spiced wine,on tap all day and,as an added bonus, your whole house, apartment or whatever will smell of christmas!!
wine+mulling spices(or use ready made bottles of mulled wine)glass or two of water, bit of sugar or honey if you want, couple of slices of orange & cinnamon sticks to zizz it up if you like, chuck it all in the slow cooker, lid on,switch on,bish bash bosh...done!!.come home to the most amazing smell of chrimbo!!
my s/c has got an auto setting which heats the contents quickly then just maintains the temp all day.i use that.enjoy!!
oh yeah, goes without saying to use a good quality wine.i use the monte' d'abruzzo 'cos it smooth, juicy & already has a slight "chocolatey/spicey taste":yum:!

:whistlingHere we come a-wassailing, Among the leaves so green, Here we come a-wand'ring....

Looks wonderful Harry!

Growing up we had sweet apple cider prepared this way.

It looks nice with orange sections studded with whole cloves or whole star anise floating in the punch bowl.
