Dinner time! Mon. Dec. 8, '14

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.

80º!? We're less than half that.

We had lunch with my sister and BIL. All you can eat Chinese buffet. Not feeling very hungry right now.

I had leftovers from last night for late lunch, so probably won't be eating again today. Rethinking the need to make that pot of chili--we have a snowstorm on its way Wednesday into Thursday.

I found a gorgeout 6.9# pork picnic and cooked it, but that's not for dinner.

Dinner is one of my favorites, hamburger onion pie, which is cooking in the oven right now.

Tomorrow, I'll take care of packaging the pork for the freezer and later dinners.

I'm being unimaginative today
A standard here, teriyaki b/s chicken thighs on the grill
some steamed baby bok choy
and steamed white rice
dessert later while watch Monday Night Football will be, wait for it...
raiding the Christmas Stockings chock full of candies that my Mother sent home with us at Thanksgiving :whistling:
SHHHHH! Don't tell :stuart:

Turkey pot-pie from scratch.

What's cooking?

I'm making Chicken Tortilla Soup, although I don't know why I chose an 80 degree day to do it.
MMMMMMMM We topped it with grated Jack cheese, chopped cilantro and onions, and fried tortilla strips.
These strips would give Doritos a run for their money lol.

Gorgeous pie S&P.

Tonight is something from the freezer labeled Lamb Stew, 1/14. I have no memory of making it and it looks like dog food, but it must have been good or we wouldn't have wasted a foodsaver bag. Will dump it on some Israeli couscous.

We did grocery shopping together, so I planned an easy supper. Honestly, I love Himself dearly, but it was easier shopping with two 2-year-olds than it is with my husband. At least the kids had bells on their shoes....

Picked up fresh-fried fish fillets at the store. Baked some potato buttons (flatter versions of Tater Tots) and make coleslaw. We ate that shortly after we got home. Easy-peasy. Real cooking resumes tomorrow.

I actually laughed out loud over this.. That's the ticket, I'm putting bells on Steve's shoes.

I misplace DH all the time. He just wanders away, and most of our Costco time is me looking for him. Bells sound like a great idea!

On the rare occasions I can be coerced to go shopping with her, Mrs. K often wanders off on her own (although if you ask her, she will claim I'm the guilty party). All I have to say is thank goodness for cell phones, or we could end up meandering around for days trying to find each other!

DH had his cell turned off during our last Costco foray/fiasco...

There is definitely a double standard here. SO goes food shopping with me. If she wanders off for some reason, I'm expected to remain where I was when she left until she returns. If I continue on with shopping, she calls me on the cell and demands to know where I've 'wandered off to'. If the shoe is on the other foot, she has no attention of standing still until I return.
