DDO has as many curved roads and I'm pretty sure more than Bcfld. so I'm sure it has happened to many. EVERY gets that hard snow at the end of their driveway. Not even the city of Montreal goes around and clears driveway entrances! LOL that would be a sight! You are blocked in if YOU don't clear it.
I was saying that my driveway was getting longer with each pass.
And I'm saying that DDO and Montreal clear the roads down to pavement after just about every single snowfall.

Looks like the big yucky stuff is over for the moment. Light snow tomorrow. Mostly sun during the week. Then a little snow again come next weekend.
We had a beautiful day today! Wheeeee!!

The weather people have visions of snow in their forecasts (so light ... it will come & go while we are sleeping). For people driving, look out intersections, your drive home will be slippery (if you're not going home, it's okay.) Time change one hour for winter's sake! The wind speed & direction have changed three times recently tonight.

Were locked in again. Roads closed. Under a flood watch for 2 days. Rain is getting ready to cut loose any time now. Expect it for another week. Wind advisory is out as well. Expect 20 to 30 Mph with gusts up to 50 Mph.
Guess yard work is out! ;)

Ahhh, more snow... I've shoveled twice already. About 7 - 8" each time. First time was light and fluffy. This time, a bit heavier. Getting warmer, almost rain. Which is why I shoveled. Son should be home after 5 (I hope) and he'll take care of the next lot. No, I didn't do the driveway, but did do the front walk so DIL and granddaughter could get in the house! Also just a path thru the back deck to the stairs plus over to the garage door.
Smarty pants this time, wore both my wrist braces - had to sacrifice gloves but what a difference. Tonight, of course, will know if they did their job.

If I ever, at some point, said I missed the snow I used to get in Quebec... I take it back, not true, I lied, I didn't tell the truth, I made it up, a fantasy, blah, blah, blah ;) :-p

I think you just forgot what it's like, until you got this reminder.

Yesterday was sunny and 51°F. Today it's 37 and cloudy. Sunny and 40 tomorrow...and then the fun? begins. The latest report I read from a hyper-local forecaster (he lives two towns over) who posts on Facebook predicts 10-15 inches of snow from late Monday night until noonish Wednesday. It could be problem snow - heavy, like only six inches of snow to equal an inch of rain instead of the average 10 inches. Combined with winds gusting into the 50s, my big concern is a power outage.

In this area we had the second warmest January and February on record, but now March has started out colder than average, and miserable, with all this rain - another storm Monday, after a cold day off tomorrow. At least it's not snow! The 10 day forecast finally has some days with 50s, and even one with a high of 62, starting next Friday - we were getting those occasionally every week the last two months!

Oh boy, your freezer again in a power outage. Think positive CG.... it is NOT going to happen! (I hope)
I think you're more worried about that than I am! :ermm: The only freezer I have is the bottom of the fridge, which is half-full of large juice bottles full of ice. I had more food and less ice when we lost power for 62 hours Halloween of 2011, and the only food that didn't make it through the outage was a partial carton of ice cream and a package of hot dogs...because we ate both of them right away.

I agree with you pepperhead212. Tonight we have rain/snow followed by cold temps. Going to wedge in a 50's day next week.

I pulled up some weather duster not because it's warmer, because it was dirty. Not saying it was spring cleaning ... not untill it's warmer!

This morning the shepherd ran outside and the 5 year old chased after him. The shepherd stuck his head under the snow and the 5 year old did too. The shepherd pee'd on the snow and so did the 5 year old. They came back inside and the shepherd drank out of the toilet then the 5 year old drank some toilet water. I don't see how that 5 year old shepherd keeps up ... maybe it's the cold air.

Waiting for the blizzard!

The governor has declared a state of emergency. Schools and businesses are closing in anticipation of the storm.

I’ve got a fresh sack of flour and a loose plan to make some banana muffins.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! 🐷

We've been watching that storm here in Quebec. Looks like we will get just the edge of that. 20 or so centimetres of snow expected here, but nothing like what is forecast for south of us.
