So hot and sticky and full of cooling drinks, that dinner just fell into a heap. Ended up with Edam cheese and sundried tomatoes on a fancy version of Melba toasts, followed by a cold (and getting slighty stale) hot cross bun and grapes.

Pick`n`mix Indian Tapas .

the sort you buy from a supermarket, pick all the foods you like, place on a baking tray and shove `em in the oven for 15 mins and then pig out thinking you should have bought Less!

We don't have anything as interesting as that in our supermarkets!!

It's always good to have the cold weather put in perspective!

I don't know exactly what we're having but I do know French onion soup will be involved - sheesh, I made too much!!!!

I just had my two little bags of oatmeal. got up late, couldn't think when hubster awoke @ early 30.

Gonna check out the freezer in the garage for it's offerings.
Sears guy came yesterday so must get the food from old frig into the new one so I have room in my kitchen again. This might be a good time to take bets on how much from the old frig/freezer I 'don't' throw away. Or how many times I say, "what is that".:-p

Okay, got it. Mind changed, it's okay, I'm allowed to have a change of heart. Going to do RR's Mile High Lasagna instead. I'll use the same 3 cuts of meat to make my very wet beef/tomato sauce. I have to go to the store and get the cookless lasagna noodles and much more pecorino and parmeson hard cheese. Hope that suits the bill for hubby. Acid Reflux is always a concern for him. Anything with tomatoes in it, and later in the evening starting dinner, equals a bad night. Thank God I don't suffer with that AR thing. Why do soooooooooo many people?

Must clean out long bar too so I can find containers for the over abundance of stew I made last night and must also get out the freezer tape to mark what's in the containers. That may help me with defrosting frozen things later, to actually know what's in that container...:-p

Happy Wednesday to you all......[it "is" Wednesday right?]

I was going to make my Veggie Lentil Nut loaf but I think I'll save that for tomorrow. I'm tired from swimming and it takes a bit of time to prep.

Tonight is Tofu scramble with bell pepper, onion, kale and cherry toms.

It's 12:30 and I have no clue. I made turkey stock for soup last night, but I'm quite turkeyed out this week.
Maybe spaghetti? Fettucini Alfredo? That sounds boring though.
I'm afraid we will end up with frozen pizza if I keep this up much longer.

Found Ol-blue's Slowcooker Meatloaf recipe on another thread so we are trying that out tonight! Meatloaf is my favorite meal so I am looking forward to it!! :)

Five people work at my office...
the bosses wife brought in 18 LARGE boxed lunches. So, I'm bringing
one of the extras home for Paulie. I had an Asian salad for lunch and it was so filling
that I don't think I'll have to eat dinner. Very good!!!!

please let us know how it turns out.
I'd like to try it too.
Have made so many different kinds of meatloaf, I'd enjoy making one in the crocker.

It was really good and I loved that I could do it in the slowcooker!! I would use less breadcrumbs next time but that is just me and make sure you are using a lean ground beef as all the grease ends up in the gravy! We will be having it again that's for sure!

BLT sandwich with tomato soup for dinner. The appliance repair guy came to day and fixed my oven!! So, tonight I made cranberry oatmeal muffins to make sure that it was working properly. It is so nice to have the oven working again.:clap:

can you post the thread please, and could you put many slices of bread in the bottom of the crock to catch the grease or no

It seems to me that the bread would just soak up the water added to the gravy mix when you first put it in, and you would end up with no gravy. I would pour off the liquid after it's done cooking and either skim off the fat or put the liquid in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes, to let it solidify a bit and then take it off.

Actually, I'd use my gravy separator - don't know if you have one, but if not, the above procedure should work. HTH.
