I am just curious as to what everyone is making right now or today. :chef:

I have ribs in the slow cooker right now with a homemade bbq sauce. It took me two hours to trim four racks, ugh! First time trimming and making ribs, I hope they're tasty :)

Why is it that I always find the forum that my topic goes into AFTER I post? :(

I just finished prepping all the vegetables for tonight's evening meal and set out all the non-perishable ingredients per mis en place. Also made the pastry for the same dish. It has to be chilled and I'm never sure what my time will be like before time to prepare dinner. It'll be a breeze making dinner when the time comes.

I just finished grilling a couple burgers for lunch.
For some reason I had a taste for hamburgers..... must have been Jeekinz doing all that "searing" talk (lol)

We have class tonight so.. it's just leftovers for lunch and dinner today. I won't be making anything new.

Tomorrow or Saturday we're having friends over for dessert so... I have to decide on something yummy to make. Friends are bringing their kids so it has to be kid friendly and grown up Yummy!

LOL, actually a box of Mac n cheese for the kiddies!
Later in honor of it being so nice out I'm firing up the grill for cheeseburgers.
Also because I'm testing a "theory".... last night at dinner my 4 yo said "I only like CHEESEBURGERS!!!" so I want to see if this is true, and he will in fact eat a cheeseburger. :)

MMm, those all sound so good!!!

If its something kid friendly, I have a recipe for Cranberry-Apple Warm Rice Pudding (topped with vanilla ice cream). Let me know if you are interested! It's a slow cooker recipe that takes 3-4 hours.

2,6-dichloroindophenol.

Yes I`m still working in the Lab and haven`t even thought about the kitchen yet :)

well you DID ask!

Saphellae, I JUST pulled two loaves of cornbread (low fat) out of the oven....OMG...I do believe I am in heaven!!

Crispy on the outside...warm and soft on the inside....how much better can life get?!

Buzzed up a batch of hummus in my fabulous food processor!

Thanks Redkitty, I have no appetite for anything except "creamy" things. It is driving DH mad because he feels if I will eat I will feel better. I have some prepped chickpeas in the freezer and think I will go make some hummus myself!

Don't we get to try a piece? :)

Gosh, I finished trimming 4 racks of ribs and my fingers are cut to shreds! I have one huge bandaid on my index finger and one on my middle finger on one hand. LOL

It's a pain in the butt trying to clean a cut after having raw meat and blood all over your hands...

Oh, plumies, not Spam! Last summer at camp we had a Hawaiian theme for Family Retreat. Being the Spam capital of the world, our manager decided it would be fitting to have a dish containing it. So, he assigned me to make "Spam fried Rice" for 300. I cut 24 cans into 1/4 inch cubes! I am not sure I could ever look at the stuff again...but that won't stop me from going to Hawaii:LOL:. Oh yea, how did it turn out? Let's just say there was lots of leftovers!

Saphellae, you have inspired me - I just finished the hummus and am about to make an apple crisp for dessert....don't know what I am making for the guys for supper, but I have mine (hummus) and dessert!

I just spent all morning making the most delicious chicken enchiladas for a friend of mine who just had a baby. Now I get a call saying, "never mind, she can't leave the hospital until midnight". So we will be having these delicious enchiladas for the next 3 or 4 days since I also made enough for my own family.

LP, I'm glad I could help! Gosh help me that I don't know what I did :p

:ROFLMAO:Oops, sorry! Well I haven't been able to cook much lately due to a swollen and sore leg and thanks to the pain and the meds I haven't felt like eating either (which makes it hard with a husband and border to feed). Starting this thread, "What are you cooking NOW?" and reading what everyone else is doing gave me a kickstart to do something.

Unfortunately, no apple crisp though - DH seems to have eaten all the apples :glare:
