Cooking a turkey to have on hand, MIL is coming on Monday. Roasted the breasts, garlic, and a "chicken" grill seasoning. Very moist. will slice for sandwiches. I made a rub of NM green chili powder, smoked paprika, pepper, chili powder for the wings, thighs/legs. Then grilled them. Then put them into a DO with a bit of turkey broth, more green chili powder, put the lid on them and have them in the oven to finish with an hour or so of braising. My intent will be to have "pulled turkey" for tacos or enchiladas in a couple of days.
so, might have a turkey sandwich for supper....

What? No one having dinner?

We're having Chinese pepper steak over jasmine rice.
I think we're eating at Andy's house. :innocent:

Actually, it is 7:00 p.m., and I still don't have a clue. We had a late lunch, and my brains just aren't thinking about supper yet!

calif roast beef sandwich. whole wheat bread, whole green chili, thin sliced roast beef, provolone cheese and a smidge of mayo. put together and butter the top slightly. put butter down in skillet, brown and flip. do same thing. just heats everything up and melts the cheese. it is really go and is plenty for dinner. might make a butter lettuce and mushroom salad.
pineapple upside down cake for dessert.

kades, has he injured it somehow? has he gone to dr. ? if not really sounds like he should. if it is minor he at least can get some pain pills. if major it certainly needs to be looked into. :ermm::ermm:

Kadesma, whats up with Gil? Is he OK?

We had a pork roast (loin) with oven roasted potatoes tossed in oil, lemon pepper and some garlic, steamed swiss chard, Joe's coleslaw and dessert will be later as we are all too stuffed to consider anything at the moment. I'm thinking ice cream, although I'm contemplating baking a cake or something.

I cooked some beef stock with star anise, cinnamon, onion, ginger, whole cloves and Sichuan pepper corns ( otherwise known as Pho ) served over rice noodles, thin sliced onion, chopped cilantro, julienned Bok Choy and thin sliced raw flank steak

I don't like soup, but I could eat this several days a week

It is 6:45 and quite hot still. We had a very late lunch (tacos) and will start making pizzas in a bit when it cools down. We have shrimp, ham, fresh pineapple and a variety of fresh veggies for toppings!

I ended up just throwing a bunch of stuff in the pan, for a pseudo-Asian one-pot meal. I browned ground beef with some garlic. To that I added a large can of tomatoes, soy sauce, green onions (chopped), mushrooms, rice, and a little tahini. It was pretty good.

Last night I made my "Breezy Extra-Spicy Turkey Sloppy Joe's" for dinner, served on toasted whole-wheat burger rolls with cole slaw.
