    Pre-cooked frozen shrimp

Thanks for all of the great ideas and recipes. It seems like they can be used in lots of things as long as they're not cooked for a long time. I definitely prefer Texas browns from the gulf, but these are what she brought home, lol. I gotta give her credit for trying!

    Pre-cooked frozen shrimp

Hello all, Recently my GF came home with a bag of frozen pre cooked, cleaned shrimp. I thawed some to serve with cocktail sauce, but they were pretty bland, even with the sauce. Any ideas what I could do with the remainders? As they're pre cooked, I would imagine that any farther cooking would...

    Akorn Weekend

I try to keep my WSM at 250, but have a hard time getting it to run below that. I pretty much use the same wood that you mentioned, but I'm cutting down a peach tree in my back yard in a few weeks. I've never tried peach before, but there's always a first!

    Easter menu?

We're getting together with my GF's family this afternoon. I smoked a turkey breast this morning and have a green chili hominy casserole ready to go in the oven soon. I believe her cousin is bringing a ham, not sure about the rest though. It will be nice to see everyone again as we only seem to...

    Saturday Supper ~ March 29, 2014

It's been raining here all day, but I wanted ribs. I cooked them in the oven and they were edible but definitely not as good as in the smoker.

What have you had for breakfast lately?

I had 2 slices of bacon, 3 slices of scrapple and 2 scrambles eggs, washed down with 2 cups of maple bacon coffee. I love Sundays as they seem to be the only day that I have time to cook a hot breakfast.

What's in the pot, Dot? Dinner 21/10/2013

My son harvested his first buck during early muzzle loader season Saturday. He brought it to my house and I taught him how to break it down. So I'm having venison chili and biscuits with an ice cold beer for dinner this evening!:yum:

    What's on the Grill?

I'm grilling a pork tenderloin this evening that I rubbed down with granulated garlic and onion, smoked paprika, ancho chile powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt and brown sugar. We'll just have simple corn and tomato salad for a side. Too darn hot for anything else, in the 90's here!

    New Package Sizing

Yeah Andy, The incredible shrinking tuna can is a prime example, although I think the Kirkland brand tuna at Costco may still be 7oz. How about packaged sliced bacon? Use to be 16oz, now some brands have it in 12oz packs. And remember the half gallon container of ice cream? Now it's about...

    Help with coffee

I think you're right Addie, It probably makes more sense for you to make a full pot for use during the day. For me it is just a convenience. I only use it in the morning before leaving the house for work. Of course I stop at the convenience store for another cup before I get to work! I...
