Season initially with Crisco....Then after that always give a coat with veg. oil. As previously mentioned, just put in oven with other bakings, wipe reoil and you'll have seasoned C.I. in no time. If you use veg. oil to initially season your C.I. will become sticky.

Down at Lake of the Ozarks we use the propane fish fryers. Camp stove/open fires take too long to heat and are a bit more dangerous as opposed to propane. I would guess the cost of a stainless pan that size would be far greater than a propane fish fryer, under $50.00. Just M.O.

There are glues available but they are not FDA Approved. There could be some leaching while cooking/baking. Epoxy woks great but again it is not FDA approved.

I got in touch with the factory. The ring is a press fit. They told me to use a rubber mallet and tap the ring in place. I tried that while on the phone. The ring would not stay in place. After numerous attempts the person on the phone told me to use super glue. That what I ended up doing...

I've been out of town and didn't have access to a computer. It is the ring at the base of the head where the attachments would attach. I looked at a mixer while out of town and it appears to be a press-fit, but not sure. I may need to get a hold of the factory.

Chrome ring fell off We have a kitchenaide mixer and the ring approximately 3" diameter has come off. Does anyone know how this ring reattaches. It appears to be a press fit but I can not get it to stay in place.:(

truffle oil You can normally find truffle oil in Italian supermarkets also.

Thanks for the input. I saw a 13 piece set of the Tramontina, brand new, in the box for $134. I will check around at Sams and see how their stuff looks. I did see on the other forum where Sam's MM non-stick was a good value and quality. Guess Knifes are going to be a whole nother can of worms.
