    The Person Below Me

Well, I hate doing dishes, but they are done. I really should do them more often; I leave them for the other half usually! TPBM is an artist

    What to do with pears?

I am so clueless with pears as I don't buy them often. I was given a bag of about 15 or so pears by a friend that has a tree in their backyard. What are some things I can do with them? They are the ones that have brown skin and they are quite firm right now.

Just wondering ... what is everyone reading now?

I like to re-read some stuff, but I also share a lot of my books. I read W.Michael & Kathleen Gear, Terry Goodkind, Pauline Gedge regularly. I will read pretty much anything you put in front of me, but those are the authors I read consistently. I also like Sarah Waters and Jean M. Auel. By far...

    What's your Phobia?

Mine's a silly childhood phobia. I used to think I was scared of the dark, but I have figured out it's not the dark I'm scared of, it's the vampires that might be lurking in it LOL

    Fresh caught largemouth bass

All I have to say is..yum. The picky non-fish eater loved it, too. I did what AllenOK said to do by adding butter, garlic, salt and pepper, and a splash of white wine in one pouch. The other I did the same except I replaced wine with lemon juice and some slices of lemon. The only downer to the...

    Campfire cooking equipment

I had to revive this thread, since I just finished up my annual canoe trip. We did the omelette for breakast again, but for our dinenr this year, I pre-boiled some pasta and brought some spaghetti sauce and had fried spaghetti over the coleman stove. We were eating in style this year and even...

    Fresh caught largemouth bass

OK, I will keep it simple. Thanks for the tip. I have 4 filets, so maybe I will try some with butter & lemon with dill, and then some with pepper. I'm a big pepper fan. I'll also give the wine a try as well. It will be a smorgasbord of bass!

    Fresh caught largemouth bass

I caught a couple largemouth bass on the weekend and now I don't know how I should cook them! I was thinking grilled in tinfoil on the BBQ with some spices and lemon, just to keep it simple. I plan to serve it with rice and a light salad. My wine selection will be a nice pinot. I don't serve a...

    Chicken, basil, Mozzarella

Looks like basil is the popular choice for discussion in here lately! I was just wondering what to do with chicken thighs and fresh basil. I have fresh garlic as well, plus a bunch of peppers and zucchinis. I found a nice recipe for grilled basil chicken on winerant.com that might be helpful for...

Ya, I also use tomatoes in mine. I find it helps thicken it up with the tomatoes. Good idea on the sweet potatoes and turnip, Uncle Bob. I'll have to try that.
