    Does anyone here MAKE cheese? I have been making goat cheeses for several months now. Chevre, yogurt,ricotta, and several failed attempts at mozzerella. I want to try making haloumi....does anyone have a recipe?

    I have a bumper crop of carrots still waiting to be pulled perhaps carrot bisque would be a nice intro...What about hubbard squash could that be used like butternut for a soup?

    :shock: Wow that sounds potent! No, I will fill the cavity of the chicken with lemon slices then put some garlic under the skin, then bake. Ideally this should produce a moist bird with a lemon essence! Thanks for your help everyone! I'll let you know how it goes!

    Chopstix- I will try the asperagus! I'm trying to remember IF they like asperagus! Brussels sprouts are good only if they are made by their son-in-law( he COOKS you know!).     Soul Food Thread

    I've had a hankerin' for Pinto Beans. At the Forsyth County(NC) fair there used to be a local food stand where they were sooo good. I have some smoked ham hock. Do I just cook that with the soaked beans? Are there some special seasonings? I would welcome some input!
