How can I get that grill taste... without the grill?

yeah, thats fair....i only use it when grilling isnt an option, and only use a small amount to provide a "hint" of smoke....any more than that would prob taste weird but it is nice to have ocassionally

How can I get that grill taste... without the grill?

though i can see why you would assume so, liquid smoke isnt some weird chemical concoction....its actually just smoke extracted into water, that simple...so it's really not far from the real thing, nor should you fear it if you eat food smoked the real way i have a bottle that i use occasionally...

didnt consider building my own....looks pretty easy too.....im still going to keep my eyes open for a cooler, but i may need to consider that

Beach Cooler - wheels for sand

i dunno, ive seen beach carts with big wheels (link below) that seem to work pretty well....i cant be the only one with this problem, so someone must have a cooler that works in the sand, right? im also not expecting perfection - its just gotta be better than flat out dragging the cooler through...

Beach Cooler - wheels for sand

thanks, i had actually considered that and its not a bad idea....since it will also be used on surfaces besides sand, a wheeled cooler is still my preference also, in case anyone is wondering, the igloo one i saw is this: 100 Quart All Terrain Cooler

Beach Cooler - wheels for sand

i know this may be slightly off topic, but it's food related in the sense that lots of us like to eat and drink at the beach does anyone know where i can buy a cooler that has large, wide wheels that will easily travel in sand? my current one has the normal small wheels, and they might as well...

    Blendtec sale - ACT FAST

cant argue with that....this blender is only worth the price if you plan to get a decent amount of use out of it, which i do (though not everday).....over the past five years, i think ive had 4 blenders (broken pitchers and fried motors)...its a bit of a gamble (like i said, i have a pretty much...

    Blendtec sale - ACT FAST

how come? the other cooking forum i like was all over this....surprised at the lack of response here i know its still quite expensive for a blender, but an insane deal compared to the normal price....also, for anyone who blends on a regular basis, you will probably spend $250 or more over the...

    Sparks in microwave?!

ok, that makes more sense....they taste better at room temp....but the thought of heating them up, and possibly making them mushy, just seemed like it would ruin a perfectly good tomato

    Sparks in microwave?!

ive never put fresh slices tomatos in the microwave...to be honest, i dont think i'd want to....you just wanted them warm, or were trying to cook them?

    Favorite foods from Whole Foods

their lamb steaks...not lamb chops, but boneless, lean steaks cut from the leg (presumably)...look sort of like sirloin steaks...they arent that cheap ($9 - $10/lb), but cheaper than most of their beef steaks....they are great....i usually just use S&P, sear them in a hot pan, then finish in the...

    Kitchen "Wives tales."

wow :bash: EDIT: ok, looks like under certain specific, rare circumstances, this actually CAN happen...though anyone heating their water with the intent of freezing it is still fooling themselves http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mpemba_effect

    Muddler

    this discussion has gotten mirky

    Muddler

its a bar tool used to mash fruit and other ingredients to make a drink....in a mojito, for example, you muddle togther lime wedges, sugar and mint leaves....that releases the juices and essential oils of the ingredients (if using coarse sugar, the sugar also helps to tear things up)...after...

    Muddler

anyone have a good muddler that they really like? ive been using a spoon to make my mojitos and caipirinhas, but its just not cutting it....i think i like the kind with the spiky plastic/rubber bottom, as opposed to the smooth wooden ones....i feel like that would do a better job releasing...
