Hi Claire - I think Michelangelo's changed ownership in the 1990s and I don't think it exists any longer - at least not on Columbia Pike. However, I believe the Alpine is still around on Lee Highway.

Potatoes, asparagus, corn, tomatoes (although not really a veg, as previously pointed out) are all serious contenders, but I couldn't live without leafy greens - gotta have my spinach, lettuce, etc.

I pan fry on them both sides until almost cooked to our liking, then topped w/ cheese (or sometimes sauce) and put under the broiler for 2 mintues.

thanks. have learned to wash pre-washed again from experience, and it seems to have taken care of the issue. It makes it a little less a convenience food, but I love the greens/lettuce blends available, so I often choose these anyway. Was just curious if anyone else had run into this.
