    Baking Sheet Recommendation

Anything is possible Texmex. A lot of non-stick was not originally meant for the higher heat that you might be using for sheet pan meals. They were originally for baking only and usually at 350 or so. It is also possible that they are having a reaction with the foil. If you decide to get new...

Do you scrub your vegetable stock scraps?

I do wash my herbs from the garden, all of them, thyme, parsley, basil, chives, etc. When it rains really hard it splashes the soil up and onto them. and I've know several female dogs that lift their legs.

I'm So Old That I Remember...

Didn't know there was more than one machine. What ever they were called, as I remember they were typed on a sheet coated in wax, the typing cut through the wax and then placed on a huge drum type thing which was turned around, the cut part of the type allowed an "ink" (what ever it was) which...

Do you scrub your vegetable stock scraps?

But do your onion skins and parsley stems still have dirt on them? The dry/wilty celery does it still have the dirt on them? No, things that go into my freezer for future stock is clean. My compost gets the gritty stuff. If I peeled a bunch of potatoes or carrots before washing them, those...

    Show us your quiche!

Yeah, mushrooms works for me! And as said, kosher, they will/must have realized that your kitchen/home will not be kosher and I'm pretty sure that they will not expect you to. Just do your best for what you have. I truly believe that if you do what you can, without killing yourself, to...

I'm So Old That I Remember...

I'm on taxy's side. That bloody machine was constantly jamming up and the wax would - gads, just tear and leak the letters. Hated it. Don't even remember the smell at all, just the aggravation.

Do You Have A “Secret Weapon?"

Like the idea of Sweet Vermouth for tomato paste. Never found that sugar worked. Red wine as depth to a tomato sauce as well. As to the Marmite/Vegemite question, they are all pretty salty (including Bovril) but the saving point is you can always use them as a booster to sauces. Only Brits...

What have you had for breakfast lately?

You know those big wheels you sometimes see on the side of a building? It turns with the water rushing by and catching the paddles to make the wheel turn. As the wheel turns it, in turn, turns the large round stone around another large stone and on those stone is some grain. That grain, as it...

    Scenes from the Past...

Well I checked all the wires (visually) and no damage there. Just the stuffing. When I got to my destination, owner came out and asked why I had to hood open. I explained and then I said - You're a big brave fellow. You grab that nest, pull it out and see if there are anymore in there. We...

Got some planning to do for these

Same here Kathleen, most I've had experience with is the oil. I certainly didn't make it myself. I have bought one of these cans to try ($17.00 gulp for 6.4 oz/183 gr) and actually don't remember which as the pictures are from their site. But whatever I even did with them was not memorable...

What have you had for breakfast lately?

On the way home from being a kids taxi, stopped and picked up a slab of ham (for quiche), some hard cheeses, and could not resists a slab of pizza just out of the oven. Home by 9:15, pizza gone by 9:28. Edit: So I guess (after reading about all the pizza's in one of the Sunday dinner threads)...

From the freezer fetched out a Shepard's Pie. Very tasty, very hot - blister on roof of mouth. Hate when I do that, but this one wasn't too bad, already gone this morning. :pig: :-p
