I'll take the beans on the right, thank you. Heinz beans are awful.

Well, I suppose you young'uns would like those newbie beans that finally managed to be tasty in 1969.
But... seeing as Heinz has been around since about 1886 and finally came over the pond in 1895, so you see, a young dragon who has been brought up on them for quite some time much prefers the original taste.

I must say that even this dragon raises an eyebrow when told that at first they were a luxury product in the U.K.

But the Heinz company originated in the US. Unless you were saying it went over the pond, not came over the pond? The wording was a little confusing there.

Yes, true Heinz was from the US. BUT he took his baked beans to the UK where it took off and was even considered a luxury food.

Then again, really my point was that it was from 1886 compared to Bush coming out in 1969 - a few years difference there, like 86 years?

I've never eaten Heinz beans so I couldn't say. I don't care for Bush beans (at least the flavored kinds like their baked beans). I usually just cook beans from dry for soups and such and I don't like baked beans anyway...

Those British Heinz baked beans are just so bland. I suppose I could doctor them up (a lot), and they'd be good, but If I am having canned baked beans, I'd rather have something I like right out of the can.

Bit of chicken noodle soup.
