I noticed part of the NYC street was coming apart on my way out one morning. On my way home, I was delighted to see that it was still there so I hefted it home for foster cats.

It weighs a LOT and DH was pretty unhappy that I was bringing dirty clutter home.

It's now cleaned up and ready for the foster room!

A part of history! When Godzilla comes over and raises New York to the ground, and there are Terminators everywhere, you can take solace knowing that you and your cat have a very valuable piece of New York history.
Maybe you can get some decent money from Rick Harrison in Vegas??

Are you saying you brought home a slab of cement to put in a room for your cats? Or am I, along with gumpy, missing something.

Are you really "Jen" Walters the She-Hulk and not Sara? To my way of thinking a 'slab' of street cement is huge and weighs more than mortal man/woman can lift.

Apparently feral foster city cats prefer concrete slabs to sleep on rather than soft blankets and cushions.

We have had a woman who killed three of her family members by making a delightful lunch of Beef Wellington.
Well, except for the fact that they died because she used poisonous mushrooms.
Did she know that they were poisonous?
Jury said yes - life sentence.

See: Erin Patterson
Well she didn't eat any, so that does seem suspicious. I'll look up the news on that.

@grumpyoldman was referring to hallucinogenic mushrooms I'm sure.
.

Yes, she made herself her own food. Hmmm.
She said that she had no idea about mushrooms, yet the police found a dehydration machine in nearby garbage, with traces of poisonous mushrooms. Hmmm.
She hated her in-laws and had told people she wanted them dead. Hmmm.
Did the jury get it right?
Absolutely.

I seem to remember it was her strange behaviour in the emergency department that meant she got caught?

We in Ontario do see "dispensaries” on reserves sell mushrooms or other hallucinogens. While cannabis is legal and has been from 2018 in Ontario and Canada, mushrooms aren't, and they aren't getting hassled by authorities here in Ontario either.

Hallucinogens such as psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and LSD are being actively studied for their potential medical benefits, especially in mental health. In clinical trials and studies the effects can last weeks after a single dose, unlike conventional antidepressants that require daily use and with the University of Alberta a big player in that space.

This whole area of drugs is very controversial especially where the gov't takes ownership legally and where costs are also controlled by their handlers, the pharmaceutical industry, or at least that what some inquisitive and knowledgably people say.

As far as the tragic case in Australia involved poisonous mushrooms, yeah, they were not “magic mushrooms” (psilocybin).

Yes, formerly feral/outside cats miss the cool cement that they had outside.
