After using the oven, is it important to leave the oven door a bit open for a while?

You really should mark your breakers, I highly recommend it. You need a friend to help, otherwise you end up running back and forth to see what's on what's off.

Besides which if you accidently turn off something it is just a matter of switching it back again! No biggy. Many home often have a physically looking large main switch at the top of the box for the house that's not hard to miss.

It is nice to know that you're not going to accidently touch two wires with your screwdriver at the same time.
I needed to change an outlet to a GFI and asked my ex to come help. He said I didn't even need to power it off... there's a reason he's my ex. 🤔. In the end I got out my hairdryer, turned that on, I could hear it just from the bottom of the stairs. Changed the outlet without running up and down stairs. 😁

Perhaps someone here will have a quicker way to check your breakers without having to buy gadgets and figuring out how they work.
I've actually been meaning to do that (for years) but apparently keep forgetting. The only ones marked are the dryer and the furnace.

Since we rent our house, the freakin landlords should have done that before we even moved in.
