I added the word easy to my recipe because it's close to Bake Chef's recipe but I used store bought, from a can, diced peaches since peaches aren't in season yet.

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 cup milk

1 stick butter

1 can of peaches

TOPPING:

1/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Combine flour, sugar & baking soda. Add milk & stir until lumpy. Melt the butter & place the melted butter in the bottom of a 9X9 pan. Pour the wet mixture over the butter. DO NOT MIX. Cover with diced peaches & syrup. DO NOT MIX.

Combine topping ingredients & sprinkle over the peaches. DO NOT MIX.

Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes until top is golden brown & bubbly!

I'm a weak baker and substituting something else never crossed my mind. I bet a can of apples would be good in it too!

Try the apples and see how it turns out! Welcome to the cooking experimenters club! Love it!
