All-Clad Cookware

I'm sad to see that Le Gourmet Chef went out of business.

I have several of their saucepans and I am very happy with them.

Another All-clad fan here. I used to live close to the PA factory and once annually went to their seconds sale - best thing ever! Thirty years later and I'm still using these pots! I like the ltd model (now discontinued) with an anodized exterior that sheds grime nicely. You can often pick up used all-clad on ebay at good prices. Old is as good as new imo, they never wear out.

why are these cookware so expensive?
do they made in china?
is there something similar for less than that price?

They are expensive because they are made in the U.S., not in China. Very high quality cookware, by the way.

If you want to keep your existing non-induction cookware, there is another option. They call them "induction plate adapters". I purchased a set from Amazon after we bought our new stove. It allows me to use my existing pots/pans.
