i missed the lemonade at the rib festival this year and i've got a hankering for a nice cold glass, even if it IS like 56 below 0. :D
thanks.

here's my favorite!

Lemonade

2 teaspoons grated fresh lemon peel
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
juice of 6 lemons (1 cup)

Bring lemon peel, sugar, and water to a boil; boil for 30 seconds.
Remove from heat and add the lemon juice.
Cool to room temperature and store syrup in the refrigerator.
For each glass of lemonade use 1/4 cup of syrup with a cup of fizzy water or plain water.
To make lemonade ice cubes, stir 2 tablespoons of syrup per cup of water and freeze as lemonade ice cubes.

Yield: about 10 portions lemonade

Hope you like it!

thanks, wasabi woman! sounds deeeeee-lish. i'm going to try it out. :D

lugaru, don't know if you've tried it yet, but frank's hot sauce has come out with chili / lime and extra hot versions of their sauce. with your love for limes, i thought you'd be interested.

I've always been a fan of lemonade made with about 2 limes, some simple syrup and club soda.

that's a neat twist. kind of like pop but healthier. :D another one to try. thanks.

I like this one from Paula Dean

2 cups sugar
1 cup hot water
2 cups fresh lemon juice
1 gallon cold water
1 lemon, sliced
Mint sprigs, for garnish

In a 1 gallon container, place sugar and hot water, and stir until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and cold water to render 1 gallon. Stir until well mixed. Pour lemonade over glasses of ice, squeeze slice of lemon on top of each, and garnish with a sprig of mint.

I guess Im what happens when you grow up with a lime tree. :D

Have you got one without sugar?

I can do everything else, it might be do able without the sugar.

Luvs, if it is 56 degrees below zero Fahrenheit, it is VERY COLD WHERE YOU ARE.

Alaska?

If you want a cold drink, you have got the central heating turned up to high.

Turn it down, and sufer like the rest of us.
