Anyone Tried Strohs Rum from Austria?

At almost $40 a bottle, I am hesitant to try it without getting more information from people who have tried it, especially in cooking. The label says it has artificial flavoring. My Google search turned up some references to a "butterscotch like flavor."

I haven't cooked with it but I have had drinks with it. It does have a kind of butterscotch/hint of vanilla flavor. What are you planning to use it for?
By the way, it is good rum.
