As per a request here is the recipe for the Sugar Cookies. I love this recipe as the cookies are not too sweet and still edible on their own even though they are intended to be decorated! They hold their shape for cut-outs and so to decorate with icing makes them a breeze.

I see now there is a video (have not seen it) and this seems to be a different site from where I first came across the recipe - but it is all good, same recipe and picutres.
here's an ingredient list for those that don't want to go to the site...

have no idea why she says use only butter but I follow the directions faithfully - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I also use salted butter not sweet butter, although it is not specified.

Thanks. That’s a far more acceptable ratio of sugar to flour and butter than for a cookie (what we call a cookie, I know you know what I mean by that 😂).

It’s much closer to the sugar ratio’s you find in a UK recipe 👍

I am going to try this. My son insisted on making a gingerbread cookie recipe his Home-Ec teacher gave him. He's never really had them before as he's only made houses with them at Christmas time and never ate them. They were tasty for me, especially when fresh and on the softer side, but he wasn't a huge fan of the nutmeg and molasses flavor. He did however enjoy the process of making them and I used it as my chance to get him more comfortable in the kitchen, so I told him I'd look for a sugar cookie recipe next (I'm not a big baker). Thank you.
