Hi,

I need to spray silicone molds with melted chocolate so to form a shell in the cavity.

I have seen spray guns being used for spaying chocolate but the spray guns themselves aren’t food grade !!

Can we use a spray gun to spray melted chocolate and then eat the chocolate that’s sprayed on a desert ?

Spark guns are not typically used for handling melted chocolate. They are designed to create sparks or heat for specific industrial or scientific purposes, rather than for food preparation. Using such tools for melted chocolate could lead to safety hazards, contamination, or improper heating, which might negatively affect the texture and flavor of the chocolate.

If you're looking for a tool to work with melted chocolate, consider options like:
  1. Piping Bags: Ideal for drizzling or decorating with melted chocolate.
  2. Silicone Spoons/Spatulas: For stirring and pouring chocolate safely and precisely.
  3. Squeeze Bottles: Great for controlled application of melted chocolate.
If you want to apply chocolate decoratively, using specialized chocolate tools like tempering machines or chocolate sprayers (specifically designed for food use) is safer and more effective.

You could just dip cut up pieces of fudge into melted chocolate. Place the dipped pieces on a cooling rack to harden. Use a fork to dip the fudge.
@SlowCook66 this is what I would have thought you would do in the first place. Traditional way to put a thin coating on a piece of ... anything!
Don't overthink and complicate!

You can buy food grade spray guns for anywhere from $21.00 American to over $500.00. It depends on how often you are going to be performing this task and how serious you are. Just Google food grade spray gun to ascertain the choices and price points. Amazon.ca also carries a pretty good selection, at a higher price of course. Canadian dollar exchange rate and all that.
