BW's been fixin "Cherries Jubilee" for years, one of our favorite desserts. Not sure it's done the classical way: She simply gets a can of good pie cherries, heats 'em up an a saucepan, "flambes" them with a little brandy, and serves them over vanilla ice cream. Delicious.! We've tried it without the "flambe" thing - flavor is totally different.

That sure does bring back memories - the first and only time i made it was for a dinner party - was before sons were bnorn so must have been 42 years ago. It sounded so elegant and wanted to impress sone one so made it. AS I recall it was more involved then heating a can of cherries etc. but what it really came down to was ice cream with cherry sauce - no big deal at all what a let down
