We all need fiber.

I’ve tried making pudding with it. It works! Simply soaked overnight in soy milk. It thickens and is delicious. Tiny teaspoon of maple syrup, some cinnamon. POW! I added a few drops of vanilla extract this time. Next time maybe some coconut milk!

I use those all the time in smoothies - just put them in first (if I remember), which is best, then the fruits and yogurt, or whatever else is going in, blend just briefly, then let the chia sit and swell up with the water (I just do something else for 5 min or so), then blend it on high, and the chia seeds are gone, for the most part. Doing this is what gave me the idea to use those chia seeds to thicken the gazpacho when I make it, but I put quite a bit more - about 2 tb for that large Vitamix container, which is 64 oz filled, so probably 60 oz, for where I have it filled to. Amazing how that gel thickens that stuff, and the tomato liquid never separates

I've become a big fan of hemp hearts lately. I put them in everything.

For some reason I've always had kind of an aversion to chia seeds because they have a weird texture when soaked in liquid.

Yes, I'm a big baby. :glare:

I take it you don't like those drinks they make with basil seeds, in India and SE Asia (sabja is one name I recall; I don't remember the other names).

I used sweetened coconut milk to soak chia seeds overnight and enjoyed it with vanilla yogurt and fruit the next day. A quick and satisfying breakfast!
