Chili peppers are spicier in the summer. Did you know that?

I'm going to guess that is because the ones you get in winter are grown in a greenhouse.

I've never noticed that peppers are hotter in the summer than the winter. Sometimes I buy them in winter and they are hotter than the ones I grow in summer.
It might depend on where they are grown too.

I think it's because the peppers create more capsaicin in hot weather. Not sure about that.
