I made a midnight snack before I turn in. (close enough)
The egg was an afterthought. It seemed if there was bacon, there should be an egg.
The asparagus makes it a healthy snack :giggle:

The plan for stir fry with frozen dumplings had to be put aside. I hunted for the dumplings in the freezer. No luck with the dumplings, but I found the cod I couldn't find on Friday. I gave up and reheated some more of the turkey Stroganoff. I had a large salad with that: lettuce, mustard leaves, pea shoots, cucumber, julienned red bell pepper, red onion, already cooked bacon lardons, a few honey preserved cranberries, and my batch vinaigrette.

Today was a triple holiday, Valentine's Day, the first day of the Lunar New Year, and Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras). I could have had candy, or Chinese , but I decided to make a cauldron of jambayla. I ate two bowlsful and have enough left over for two more.

How do you figure that it was Valentine's Day?

Apart from the fact that it was Shrove Tuesday for Brits, or the French "Mardi Gras" more widely known, and Carnevale for Italians, it was also my son's birthday, so I baked a Lasagne, then a "fianchetto ripieno" (stuffed flank steak) as a second course, plus a pastry cream cake. The sponge was from the bakery but I made the pastry creams and decoration with whipped cream. You can see the crooked layers, I'm no good at using knives. 😀
