lOl - I take you meant 'had not', you're right, I hadn't. I didn't do 'candy making' per se back then. It was also not commonly known way back then that chocolate was toxic to dogs. My parents were breeders and I can't say that they knew, but it was also not something that we would ever share, loved my dogs but love my chocolate more...

Feliz, our calico, never bothered the tree or ornaments, but did enjoy a nap on the tree skirt, next to the nativity. It was rather like the holy family and the giant cat!

When we lived in Hawaii, the fresh pine trees where cut down before Halloween in either Oregon or Washington States and then loaded into Matson shipping containers and we'd get them `round about the beginning of December.
By that time, mold and mildew and taken hold on most trees and made for a very uncomfortable Christmas Season for me.
I'm highly allergic to mold, mildew and dust... I ALWAYS had a sinus infection that lasted for a long time!
Since moving to the Continental USA - no problems!
After a few years of paying premium prices for a fresh tree here in Arizona, we bought an end of season special pre-lite tree.
This year, I am not setting anything up, as we have been going through so much in the past, oh, month and a half + ... all I have out is our three stockings for Santa to fill for us 3 good children

There are no ornaments at Loverly's place, but I have plenty of gifts to wrap up and stack under the tree. That should work out fine.

Judy did a lot of work decorating the outside of our Villa.

We pass this each time we head out from Loverly's going south a block over from the main drag. Needless to say, Himself picks this street when it's dark. There are a lot of houses heavily decorated this way. So seasonal!
