After 1 month living in a dome tent with just a gas stove and charcoal for cooking, I ordered a 12 V fridge.
Life saver :)
These days it's full solar

Back to meals,
I generally use 1 or 2 pots/pans
Yesterday was lazy pasta.
1 pot, boiling water. Cook pasta till done.
Semi drain.
Back on slow heat add capers(no need to refrigerate) and bit of juice, chili paste (no need to refrigerate) and crack an egg in it.
Stir a bit, taste and done

Eggs here and in Europe don't need refrigeration either. Otherwise just hard boil a bunch of them...

Seeing @Steve Kroll made me think of this great egg dish.

When I make it I sort of wing it by starting with a tomato based pasta sauce or a bottled salsa.

Do you have an oven? Because there's a lot of stuff you can cook in an oven. Also, do you do any crock pot cooking? They have these small crock pots now, maybe one quart, that will hold a single chicken breast or a couple pork chops and if you have any access to electricity, that would be a game changer. I'm assuming the guys working on your house can use their electric tools?

If you don't have a fridge, a couple bags of ice will keep things cool (not frozen) for a while, too.
For right now no hydro. A propane stove

I just want to point out to our non-Canadian members that in a context like this, "hydro" means electricity. Almost all of the electricity in Canada is generated with hydro power. Some of our power companies have "hydro" in the name, like Hydro-Québec.

Thank you for clearing up that shocking mistake lol.

But yes 100% electricity

And Edmonton, Alberta has another name for it EPCOR, other cities/areas also have different names for different suppliers.

Yes, pretty much everyone in Edmonton!
You have no idea how many times my daughters have said - "Mom, here it's called EPCOR!"
Took me the longest time as I thought they were saying EPCOT.

I have one of these for camping. Love it.

First time I heard a reference different than Hydro was in Florida when I was trying to help someone pay his bills, arranging cut offs & coming back to Canada.

Sorry for answering for Kevin, but I think he was referring to a comment on the fact that "up here" the word Hydro refers to our electricity supplier 100%.

The little propane heater in our tent camper worked pretty well come cold weather. Kevin hope yours does! Stay warm.

Got the roof/shell up? Stove delivered? How're you doing?
Will you eventually have electricity or a generator or just propane?

The shell will be solid ‘mid-December’ then first thing is wood stove preparation and installing. Then run hydro etc after that.
