I'll start. Everything scaled down, but there was still enough for 6 people.

Turkey breast, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, rutabaga, Brussels sprouts, brandied cranberries.

I'm having a bit of a klutz day, so I decided to order supper. Since Thanksgiving in Canada was a month and a half ago, I'm not celebrating TG today, so ordering a burger is no biggy for me.

I ordered from Harvey's, a Canadian burger chain. It was as good as I remembered it. I had an order of onion rings with that and they were very good. Well, the burger was very good too. Multigrain bun, excellent choice of toppings - I had an extra Angus patty, cucumbers, shredded lettuce, onion, black olives, hot peppers, and garlic mayo.

Canadian here too. An Early Bird Special and had left overs from last night. A huge bowl (actually far too much) of Andy's Tuscan Butter Shrimp on Rice noodles. Was even better 2nd time around.

When I stored it (noodles separate from shrimp with sauce) I drizzled just the barest amount of Truffle Oil over the noodles. You have to be careful with that stuff, very potent. It seemed to add an amazing extra depth to the dish. Was a happy camper. That was mid-afternoon and it's now 20 to 8 and I'm still stuffed.

^ that looks really nice @dragnlaw !
I know what you’re saying about truffle oil. It is very pungent and strong (and most of them are synthetic anyway)
I don’t think I would use it on shrimp or Asian food. In fact, I bought a fairly large bottle some years ago and I still have the majority of it. I might sometimes use a splash on a steak or a drizzle in some mashed potatoes, but that’s about it.

Happy thanksgiving everyone! 🫠

Thanksgiving dinner: 12 o'clock—Brussels sprouts, cranberry relish, carrots, mashed turnip and yellow potatoes, sweet potato casserole with praline topping, turkey, sautéed mushrooms, stuffing, pan gravy, and a dinner roll. Riesling and sparkling apple-cranberry cider to drink.

As I already mentioned in another thread, I cooked bone-in turkey breast, which is a turkey with the legs and wings brutally ripped from a whole turkey, and my sister made Stove Top stuffing and green bean casserole.

The day ended on a sad note. My sister took my 90-year-old mom back to her assisted living apartment, and talked to her an hour later, and my mom has no memory of coming to my sister's house for Thanksgiving dinner. That really was a punch in the gut for me. I feel really bad for my mom, because she really enjoyed having Thanksgiving dinner with us, she even said grace before the meal, and doesn't remember any of it.

My mom has driven me nuts all my life, but now I can't help but feel sorry for what she's going through. I'm here for another day, and plan to visit her, and she won't remember I was there. She at least knows who I am, although she isn't always sure how we are related, but if she asks how we know each other, and I say, "You know who I am," she will think for a few seconds and say, "Your my son."

But anyway, she had a good day, whether she remembers it or not.

Well, heck, I put ham steaks with pineapple and potatoes in the crock pot this morning (after an ungodly early hour morning trip to the store again) but then I had to do something with the hamburger I took out the other day. I wanted a standby in case I didn't like either the Chinese food or the ham steaks. But it needed to be cooked so I made Hamburger Helper with it at about 5 and was so hungry, that's what I had to eat tonight. When the ham steaks were done about 6:30, of course I was too full to eat them. So they're in a container in the fridge and maybe I'll have them tomorrow.

For dessert, I took the last of the cream cheese and made Boursin cheese again and had it on crackers. The hardest part was trying to get the butter and cream cheese softened. We're having a week of cold weather (I need to shut my water off at night again) and I don't think my trailer got up over 62° today.

Sorry to hear about your mum @caseydog ,wishing her all the best.

Unfortunately, my Thanksgiving eve was spent in the ER. I went in because I had abdominal pain and chills, and hadn't been able to keep food down all day. Turned out I had a kidney stone. Today was spent in bed on anti-nausea meds.

I think this was the first time I ever lost 5 pounds on Thanksgiving Day.

Sorry to hear that @Steve Kroll , wishing you a speedy recovery.

@caseydog you have to think of it this way... she had a good time today, she'll enjoy your visit tomorrow. She doesn't know she doesn't remember - so be happy for her.

It's tough. My my mom and I did not get along when I was a kid. I moved out when I was 17. But, she now thinks I hung the moon. She loves it when I come to visit her. I think it because I remind her of my dad. I have been down in Houston three times in the last month, and she doesn't remember any of that. I'm not hurt at all by that, but I feel bad for her.

It just hurts to know that she had a happy Thanksgiving dinner with my sister and me and doesn't remember it. She deserves to have that memory.

I don't believe in gods anymore than I believe in unicorns. But if there is a god, would it be too much trouble for you to let my mom remember Thanksgiving dinner with her kids?

@caseydog that's too bad that your mum doesn't remember. But, as dragn wrote, she doesn't know she doesn't remember. Sending positive thoughts.

@Steve Kroll, god bedring (Danish for good bettering). I'm sending healing vibes. They often help, but I can't promise results.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, but yesterday I just fancied some baked pasta and I think the end result would be quite worthy (modestly 😁) of a Thanksgiving feast. 😀
Pasta shells filled with a mixture I made with ricotta and chopped sautéed mushrooms, including porcini, then seasoned with a bechamel sauce and lots of parmesan. Quite yummy. The missing portion was mine😃.

Love those stuffed shells. I usually do ricotta and spinach but I will definitely be adding mushroom next time. That looks sooo good Meryl.
