^ that looks really nice @dragnlaw !
I know what you’re saying about truffle oil. It is very pungent and strong (and most of them are synthetic anyway)
I don’t think I would use it on shrimp or Asian food. In fact, I bought a fairly large bottle some years ago and I still have the majority of it. I might sometimes use a splash on a steak or a drizzle in some mashed potatoes, but that’s about it.

Happy thanksgiving everyone! 🫠
You are missing out.

That dinner out I wrote about was from a small high end Italian restaurant with a native Italian chef/owner. Another place we went the native Italian chef/owner made a similar dish with fresh pasta.

Then, not Italian, but a European trained, once respected chef, before a sex scandal, made

Let me tell you, everything I wrote in that post was true.

Our Thanksgiving dinner, smoked turkey breast, dressing, entirely scratch made green bean casserole, gravy, homemade rolls, and Craig's sweet potatoes alla bananas foster. We had pecan upside down cake for dessert, but I don't have a picture of that yet. Cake was a new recipe and it's pretty darn good. Good for dessert or a coffee cake.

They look fantastic! Would love those recipes.
Don't have a recipe for the GBC, just steam green beans, make a white cream gravy with mushrooms and onions, then make onion straws by slicing on mandolin, soaking in ice water, drip drain, toss in seasoned flour and fry. Green beans and onion gravy into oven to warm through (I make ahead), top with onion straws, serve.

Doesn't say in recipe, but mentioned in comments, cake pan must be 2 inches deep minimum, and cook on foil lined sheet pan because even in 2 inch you will get bubble over. I lined bottom of pan with parchment too to cut down on clean up.
